Frequently Asked Questions

We have listed some frequently asked questions that will help you to understand more about us.

As no two patients are the same, no two therapy protocols are the same. The first therapy session, however, usually follows a fairly structured path to ascertain the best path of action:

  • Once you and therapist would agree to commence the therapy, you would be provided with appointment to attend your first session
  • Our therapist will introduce themselves and provide information as to their background, training, and the therapy process.
  • They will offer you the chance to ask any questions to put your mind at ease about the process.
  • They will listen and treat you with respect at all times, paying attention to the smallest of details.
  • They will invite you to discuss any specific topics/areas of concern you would like to address during the therapy sessions.
  • Based on your responses, they may ask further questions to better clarify and assess these issues.
  • If they are able, they may offer an early indication as to how they would like to proceed in addressing these concerns and invite feedback.
  • The therapist and you will agree on the therapy goals early on and you would be supported to work towards the achievement of these goals.
  • The therapist will suggest a number of psychological strategies for you to rehearse in the therapy session. You may also be asked to practice these strategies in between the sessions to improve your emotional wellbeing.
  • In closing, the therapist will ask for your opinion on the session and you will negotiate the time of your next session.

Health 2 Lifestyle does not recruit unqualified therapists.  Prior to their commencementwith Health 2 Lifestyle, all therapists are asked to supply a copy of their university qualification, their current membership with their relevant professional association such as PACFA for psychotherapists, AASW for social workers or ANZACATA for art therapists. We also carefully check all the therapists’ employment history and speak to at least three of their referees to verify their experience and quality of service delivery as well as their ongoing commitment to people they work with.

All our therapists are trained to make their patients feel comfortable and at ease. They are finely attuned to a patient’s feelings and welcome feedback from a people who visit our clinic.  We are here to support you and would follow your feedback of how to make you comfortable, ensuring you feel well in our company.

Yes, we do, but only for NDIS participants.

We do but only for NDIS participants who receive therapy from Health 2 Lifestyle.

For clients with Medicare coverage, we use a sliding scale fees for the services of accredited mental health social worker.  If you are on a Centrelink benefit you may have to pay a small out-of-pocket fee.

If you are a private client, you will have to pay the entire cost.

NDIS covers the full cost of Health 2 Lifestyle services, so there are no out of pocket expenses for NDIS participants.
